For as in Adam all die, euen so in Christ shall all be made aliue, But euery man in his owne order: the first fruites is Christ, afterward, they that are of Christ, at his coming shall rise againe. Then shalbe the end, when he hath deliuered vp the kingdome to God, euen the Father, when he hath put downe all rule, and all authoritie and power. For he must reigne till hee hath put all his enemies vnder his feete. (1 Corinthians 15:22-25 Geneva)
If one wakes in the morning, by God's grace I might add, to carry on his frigile existence for his own money, power, prestige, etc., apart from Christ, he is living life under the sun and will eventually realize, as Solomon explains, it is a "chasing after the wind". Futile! Vain! Ultimately worthless! This is the thesis of all the "isms" of history: materialism, humanism, rationalism, pluralism, modernism, postmodernism, and on and on goes the bedraggled list of failed suspects in the desert of philosophical ideas. On the other hand, life under the Son, lived for Christ, is the sole answer to the question, "What is my ultimate purpose in life." This blog will be my humble attempt to flush out this weighty thesis as it affects the day to day happenings of the 21 st century and reminisce on its success or failure in previous generations.
I am the husband of Kimberly and the father of six little blessings (4 stalwart sons and 2 precious daughters), who we homeschool. I served in the United States Navy, where I worked with the VLS/Tomahawk Cruise Missile and later earned a B.S. in Bible. I have had the privilege of teaching elementary, junior high and senior high school students in various settings for some years and even started Reformation Study Center in order to assist in the education of Home-Schooled children in History, Literature and Theology. I currently work as a costomer service Representative at a Wholesale Food Distributor and co-pastor a small church. I enjoy reading (especially history and Christian Theology), listening to Classical music (notably J.S. Bach) and drinking the Divine nectar; tea (any kind). I stopped counting my physical age at 35, not because I mind older age, but just because I do not remember any longer. We live in the beautiful foot hills of northern Lancaster County Pennsylvania enjoying each other, the friends the Lord has given us and His beautiful creation one day at a time by His grace.
